Arts for All

About

Arts for All is a statewide initiative dedicated to ensuring that every child in Virginia—regardless of background or income—has the opportunity to experience the transformative power of the arts.

Founded by Madison, Arts for All is grounded in a deeply personal belief: that the arts don’t just entertain—they empower. Whether through dance, music, theater, visual art, or creative writing, the arts provide young people with tools for self-expression, build confidence, and contribute to emotional and academic growth.

Why the Arts Matter

Studies consistently show that arts education leads to:

  • 📚 Improved academic performance
  • 😊 Lower levels of anxiety and depression
  • 🗣️ Stronger communication and leadership skills

For Madison, these benefits are personal. From childhood performances at home to starring in high school musicals and coaching young singers at Ignite the Light, the arts have played a pivotal role in building her confidence, career, and community.

Madison’s Mission

Arts for All aims to break down barriers to arts education through two primary efforts:

1️⃣ Scholarships for Low-Income Students

Outside of the school day, arts programs can be prohibitively expensive. In communities like Arlington, a single week of theater camp can cost over $500. To help make arts participation more affordable, Madison hosts regular fundraisers—including popular Kendra Scott “Give Back” events—to provide need-based scholarships for programs like Ignite the Light.

2️⃣ Advocacy for Arts Education Funding

As a member of the National Art Education Association, Madison works closely with local and state leaders to protect and increase arts funding in public schools. She meets with school officials, speaks at government hearings, and collaborates with organizations like the Virginia Art Education Association to raise awareness and drive legislative action.

Community Engagement

Through social media campaigns and public events like Arts Across Virginia Day and Youth Art Month, Arts for All inspires communities to speak up for the arts. With strong support from fellow artists, educators, parents, and policymakers, we are building a movement where arts education is seen not as a luxury—but as a vital part of every child’s development.

Looking Ahead: A Commonwealth of Creativity

As Miss Virginia, the mission continues. From integrating arts-based confidence-building activities into school visits on the ABC School Tour, to lobbying for equitable funding across districts, Madison is using her platform to ensure that arts education is available to all students across the Commonwealth.

Join us in our vision to make the arts accessible, affordable, and empowering—for every child in Virginia.
